We are looking for a Senior Product Manager for our inspection/metrology systems. 

Summary


  • The Senior Product Manager will manage the business (NOT the technology) of the Company’s defect inspection systems from initial customer problem identification all the way to product obsolescence/EOL.
  • Position will be based in Austin, TX, US with 25 - 50% travel, both domestic and international. Preference will be given to qualified applicants that are already located in the Austin metropolitan area.
  • Visa sponsorships are NOT available for this role.

Experience

  • Minimum of ten (10) years as a senior or principal product manager in semiconductor manufacturing capital equipment (i.e. unit sales price more than $250K USD) and specifically in back-end inspection and metrology systems.
  • Must have successfully managed at least one semiconductor capital equipment product line throughout its entire lifecycle. This includes initial customer problem discovery, product development, customer testing, market and launch planning, sustaining and metrics tracking, and obsolescence/EOL.
  • Experience with stage/gate new product development processes commonly used in hardware and systems engineering.
  • Technology and/or business degree(s) from accredited universities preferred.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with internal Sales, Customer Service, Development, Operations, and Executive teams.

Key Job Tasks

  • Communicate with other team members and customers with integrity and honesty.
  • Establish strong customer relationships with engineers and decision makers at major advanced semiconductor packaging companies (captive and outsourced).
  • Identify problems with these customers’ processes and equipment.
  • Develop solutions to these customer problems in collaboration with Research, Development, and Operations, and establish business cases for each such solution.
  • Develop and maintain the product roadmap, and ensure distribution to all affected employees.
  • Represent the “Voice of the Customer” during the product development process, and assist the development team to understand and incorporate customer requirements throughout the process.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Executive, and Sales teams to develop and execute successful product launch plans, including beta customer testing and rollout.
  • Train customer-facing organization about new products, their features & benefits, and competitive products’ advantages and disadvantages.
  • Develop worldwide pricing matrix.
  • Track and analyze product’s financial and business metrics after launch, and develop corrective actions if metrics do not meet expectations.
  • Provide feedback to all internal groups from customers about problems, issues, and comments in regards to installed systems. Collaborate with other affected departments to devise corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Contribute to product improvement plans to reduce costs and improve product quality.
  • Provide demand forecast to Operations team.
  • Present regular product business summaries to executive team.
